Our Team
Meet some of the people who make up our team at CareVets Gisborne.
Some have been here a long time. Some arrived more recently. One left, worked elsewhere, and chose to come back. Each story is individual, but together they show how this clinic actually functions — under pressure, over time, and in a regional setting where decisions can’t always be handed off.
If you’re reading this because you’re trying to work out what it’s really like to work here, these real veterinary voices sharing their real veterinary stories will tell you more than a job ad ever could.

Sarah – Vet Nurse
She first joined the clinic after moving to Gisborne from the Kāpiti Coast around 2017. After a period away — raising young children and working in a mixed animal practice — Sarah made a deliberate decision to return to CareVets Gisborne.

Emma – Head Vet Nurse
Emma Head is the Head Veterinary Nurse at CareVets Gisborne. She moved from Auckland to Gisborne in 2021 and has been part of the clinic ever since.

Loren – Small Animal Vet
Dr Loren Cribb is a small animal veterinarian who’s been part of CareVets Gisborne since 2014. Originally from the South Island, she moved to Gisborne for her first new-graduate role and has chosen to build both her career and her life in the region.

Ross – Small Animal Vet
Dr Ross Milner is a small companion animal veterinarian who graduated from Liverpool in the UK in 1991 and has worked across some of the world’s most remote and demanding environments — including Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, Fiji, Ireland, and the UK — before choosing to settle in Gisborne.

Camille – Small Animal Vet
Dr Camille Bonini is an English small companion animal veterinarian who’d spent approximately 18 months locuming around New Zealand before joining the CareVets Gisborne team for a short stint.

Alice Dawson – Regional Manager
Alice Dawson is the Regional Manager (based in Wellington) supporting CareVets Gisborne, alongside other clinics in her region. She has been with CareVets since 2015 and has worked as a veterinary nurse for 17.

Rhonda – Clinic Coordinator
Rhonda Moriarty-Patten is the Clinic Coordinator at CareVets Gisborne and has been part of the clinic since 2021. Before moving to Gisborne, she worked in corporate roles in Auckland and London — big cities, long commutes, and high-pressure environments — before deliberately choosing a different pace of life.
